Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr. scored an impressive win over South Aftrican, Jeffrey Mathebula, and unified the IBF and WBO Super Bantamweight Championship Belts at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. The fight was scored a unanimous blowout with Donaire knocking down Mathebula with a left hook in the fourth round.
“The Filipino Flash controlled the entire fight and showed the world he could stand toe-to-toe even with someone five inches taller than him,” said Rich Cabael, CEO of VuQo Premium Vodka. “And we’re proud to have him and Rachel as our endorsers.”
VuQo Premium Vodka sponsored the After Fight Party at Sevilla Nightclub in Long Beach, CA. and was hosted by Waterhole Kings and Just Blame Us. The After Party was well attended with media from ABS-CBN, BakitWhy.com, Manila Mail, FilAm TV, and AZE Media. Chris Gatdula from the world famous dance group Jabbawockeez was also in attendance.
VuQo! VuQo! VuQo! was the chant at the reception after playing 18 holes in the First Bayanihan Cup held at Summit Pointe Golf Club in Milpitas, CA. Winners of the different divisions each won a bottle of VuQo while the rest of the participants got a chance to win a bottle through the raffle.
The event was sponsored by Mango Tours, Philippine Airlines, Cache Creek, AirPhil Express, Microtel, Bayanihan Cargo, Rafael Lumanlan of Morgan Stanley, Stephen Sim of PGA Los Angeles, Globe Telecom, Asian Journal, Keep Scores, and VuQo Premium Vodka. Guests of honor included Milpitas Mayor, Jose Esteves and San Francisco Deputy Consul General of the Philippines, Alfonso “Doy” Ver.
VuQo CEO, Rich Cabael, played in the tournament but was never in contention. “I played very well but unfortunately, my score didn’t reflect it,” Cabael jokingly said. “For every great shot I hit, I hit 10 not so great!”
